Marty called in for me yesterday and apparently there was some confusion about how long I would be out. I got a nasty text from my manager. I tried to clear it up and explain I have a doctors note and his response was, “K”.

Fuck I’m just so sick of everything lately.

I’d imagine you’d hurt that bad. That’s one of the most painful bones to injure. It blows my mind that you can’t remember hitting it somehow. Maybe you got a hairline fracture a while ago and it worsened?

Yeah I have a physical job so moving around all day I was in tears every time I got to sit down because it was such a relief, even though sitting still hurt it was at least not as bad. I didn’t even bother going home after work, just went right to urgent care, and Marty came there after work as well to be by my side. He really does take such good care of me it’s ridiculous and I don’t know how I got so lucky.

The only thing I can think of is that a few weeks back I fell off a bench at renaissance faire, I was sitting opposite someone and they got up quickly, and the bench basically did what a teeter totter does when one person jumps off. I fell back and hit my lower back on my tankard that was on my belt, and my head also hit the ground and I had a minor concussion. So if anything, I would guess that it happened then…that is if it’s the fracture and not the cyst. So far though, no other signs of it being the cyst, so the doc was leaning towards the fracture.

I really have no clue, the doctor wasn’t even certain as to what it is. I woke up in the middle of the night and had pain right in that area. It was sharp pain and hurt every time I moved. I went to work and the pain only got worse throughout the day. I was nauseous from the pain, so after work I went to urgent care. He said it was either a fractured coccyx or pilonidal cyst. Took xrays but didn’t really show anything. So he just gave me pain meds and sent me home. I took yesterday and today off of work. It is feeling a lot better now, not as much constant pain but still very sore and tender in that area. And yeah, it’s especially weird because I can’t remember hitting it or falling on it, or any trauma that would’ve caused it to become injured. *shrug*
